It also plays a pivotal role in carcinogen metabolism and facilitates the sodium-dependent uptake of bile acids into hepatocytes. Mutation in EPHX1 gene results in preeclampsia, which causes increased epoxide hydrolase activity or epoxide hydrolase deficiency. |
